It's that time of year for festivals around the world and although im not planning to go to one this year due to spending the last of my 20's living it up in Ibiza! I thought i would share some V-festival memories with you. I first went to vfestival in 2013 and camped for the first time in my life. It was definitely an experience living in a tent for 3 nights with no shower and only baby wipes but it is one of the best experiences of my life I would recommend it to anyone to try once! It got me hooked on festivals. Since then I have gone back to vfestival 2014 and 2015 and loved every minute. What to pack?Wet wipes, deodorant, food you can heat with boiling water, alcohol, layers of clothing (get's cooler on night and especially when back in the tent), wellies, rain coat, bumbag, sunglasses, socks, face gems, glitter, flowers for your hair, tissues are essential, hand gel, phone (most festivals have phone charging stations), blow up mattress, duvet, tooth brush, toothpaste, shower gel to use with the wet wipes, razor, snacks and of course your tent! The portaloose are awful but you have to use them so make sure you plan your outfit to be easy to take down and back up again when using the loo you want to spend as less time in there as possible! I love going to the bar Cocktail Cocktail which has amazing mojitos and great music there is normally a really good atmosphere there. Drinks can be expensive so try and drink before going in to the festival to get yourself merry before! There are lots of different stages at vfestival - I always go to Weston Park because it's closer and the Main stage is great but if you go try the comedy tent. I saw Alan Carr there one year the tent was full so we watched it from outside on the big screen and he was hilarious!! Not everyone you go with may want to see the same people/bands as you so as long as you have a strategy for where you want to meet up / a flag so you can find one another you can always go off and enjoy yourself. I have spoken to so many new people just by walking to get food/drinks and standing watching bands etc. I love going to new places and meeting new people :) Festival AccessoriesOne of my favourite things of going to a festival is getting dressed up like a hippy! Glitter on my face, flowers in my hair, bumbag on and last time I went I loved the gold tattoos I bought! Festivals make you feel so relaxed, enjoying the music, having drinks and meeting new people. Everyone is so friendly at festivals. When you plan to go accessories, accessories, accessories!! its so much fun.
I like to wear shorts with a top or a dress (so much easier in the portaloos) I always wear wellies even if its sunshine all day because some of the field can be muddy and you never want to get caught up in the sludge! I always wear a bumbag too so much easier when your holding drinks and dancing away! Normally in my bum bag I can fit - Tissues, hand gel, phone, lipstick/lipgloss and money.
